Chief of Staff Emanuel May Ne Natural Gas Ally

President-elect Barack Obama's
choice for chief of staff may become a powerful
ally to the natural gas industry in Oklahoma and
the nation. Congressman Rahm Emanuel of Illinois
has accepted Obama's offer to take the highly
coveted position.

Earlier this year Emanuel and Congressman Dan
Boren of Oklahoma co-sponsored legislation to
expand the use of natural gas-powered vehicles.
Emmanuel also appeared at a news conference
about natural gas supplies and usage with Aubrey
McClendon who is chief executive officer of
Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy.
Chesapeake vice president Tom Price says it
"could be quite advantageous" to have Emanuel in
the White House when Obama is creating an energy
